Meiji Shrine , Tokyo , JAPAN

Meiji Shrine

Meiji Shrine is one of the 'must-go' places if you're in Tokyo. Its located beside the Harajuku train station stop. If u are lucky, every weekends (Sunday specially) u will get to see alot of people wearing weird costumes walking around the Takeshita and Harajuku street. Its like a trend/routine for them to do that every weekends. But as for me and my friends, we are super lucky because we went there on a Super Yosakoi celebration where everyone from different part of Japan comes together to do some performance with different type of traditional costumes.

*the stage that we see when we're on our way to Meiji Shrine*

*few out of many different type of traditional costumes that we get to selfie's with*

Now back to the main attraction, Meiji Shrine. The name of the shrine is given after the Emperor Meiji n it was build after his death in 1912 n the Empress in 1914. You will go through 3 'Torii' gates before entering the shrines. Wonder how it looks like?

*oppssiee not clear?*

*there better picture of 'Torii' gate*

As you can see the shrine is located in the forest itself. So its kinda green environment here. Lovely mother nature hidden in the city.

*same as entering the temple,we need to purify ourselves before entering the shrines. There's proper steps of doing it so GOOGLE if u wanna know more*

*main hall*
*people writing down their prayers on the 'Ema'(woodden pieces) and hung it around the divine tree at the right corner*

*wishing tree at the left side corner where people will give their offering and pray/wish*

*Japanese traditional wedding held here mostly every weekends*
